Fall Season

The Fall Season starts the first week in September and runs until Thanksgiving. All teams will work out twice a week and play simulated games on weekends, including one tournament. Our workouts will be dynamic and high-paced! We will divide large groups into smaller working groups based on positions to maximize repetitions.

Our goal is always development, focusing on getting better every day. Our vision for intersquad and simulated games is to work on all facets of the game, including innings for pitchers, at-bats for hitters, defensive work, and game situations. We aim to achieve this in a controlled setting to enhance our internal evaluations and create individual plans for off-season work and goals. This will take place mostly at our home diamond, Hamilton Yards.

Off-Season Training

Off-season training starts in January and runs for 17 weeks. Groups will train with two workouts a week at Bell Sensplex, along with a dedicated hitting and pitching nights at ONC Labs. We will provide detailed off-season programs and offer additional strength and conditioning nights as well.

Fast-paced, dynamic workouts with strong planning and execution will prepare our players for the season, enabling significant strides in their development during the winter months. Much of a player's improvement will occur in this portion of the program.

League Play (CPBL)

League play begins in May and runs through June. Founded in 2015, the Canadian Premier Baseball League (CPBL) provides exactly what its name suggests: a top-tier organization within Canada's baseball landscape that hosts the top amateur players and programs from Ontario.

The CPBL and its member programs offer players a rich competitive environment, cutting-edge resources to succeed, and access to the right showcase events to refine their skill sets. Above all, the league is committed to producing high-caliber players with a focus on development and enhancing the profile of the game in Canada.

Note: Travel costs for league play for the player and parent(s) are the responsibility of the family (e.g., gas, hotels, meals).

Tournaments

Teams will travel to the US and parts of Canada to participate in 3 tournaments throughout the spring and summer. This is an opportunity to compete against baseball talent in the US northeast and midwest. Playing in these events provides our players with exposure to US college scouts from all levels of the NCAA, NJCAA, and NAIA.

Travel costs for the player and parent(s) are the responsibility of the family. Teams will also practice twice during the week.

Following tournament play, there will be a break, and then we will hold tryouts for the following year's program in late August.

Canadian Premier Baseball League

In less than a decade of existence, the CPBL has already produced numerous MLB draft picks, Canadian Junior National Team players, and student-athletes who have continued their careers at post-secondary institutions.

Here are the 12 member programs under the CPBL umbrella:

  • Académie Baseball Canada
  • Fieldhouse Pirates
  • Great Lake Canadians
  • Ontario Astros
  • Ontario Blue Jays
  • Ontario Nationals
  • Ontario Royals
  • Ontario Terriers
  • Ottawa Nepean Canadians
  • Titans Baseball Club
  • Toronto Mets
  • Watson Elite
  • Windsor Selects

In-Depth Player Assessment

As part of the ONC Elite experience, all players will undergo a professional-grade Player Assessment using FieldPro AI, our custom-built performance tracking software. Assessments are conducted at ONC Labs, using cutting-edge technology like Trackman, Rapsodo, and HitTrax to capture detailed data on pitching and hitting mechanics.

Each player receives a personalized performance profile, including:

  • Pitch velocity, spin rate, and movement metrics
  • Hitting exit velocity, launch angle, and contact zone analysis
  • Multi-angle video review
  • Benchmark comparisons by age/level
  • Key development areas and training priorities

This data-driven approach allows our coaching staff to create customized development plans and monitor progress throughout the year. Players also have the ability to control privacy settings and make their profiles public for college coaches and recruiters—giving them a professional, data-backed platform to showcase their skills and gain exposure.

Player Expectations

Balancing Sports & Commitments

We understand that many of our athletes participate in multiple sports, and we encourage them to be well-rounded competitors. We ask that players communicate with their coaches when conflicts arise and prioritize their ONC Elite commitments during league play and tournament season. Like any elite program, the more time and effort invested, the greater the development and performance on the field.

Player Growth

Building Character & Leadership

Sports play a crucial role in shaping young athletes—physically, mentally, and emotionally. Whether our players continue their baseball journey at the collegiate or professional level or pursue other paths, ONC Elite provides a high-level experience that prepares them for success in life.

Beyond competition, our program helps players develop resilience, sportsmanship, and leadership skills. They learn to handle victories with humility, face challenges with confidence, and contribute to their community through volunteer efforts.
