11U Canucks Go Undefeated to Capture Rumble on the River Title
The Ottawa Nepean Canucks 11U team put on a clinic at the Rumble on the River Showcase Tournament this past weekend, going a perfect 4–0 en route to a commanding 9–1 championship win over the East Nepean Eagles.
From the first pitch to the final out, the Canucks showcased power at the plate, shutdown pitching, and airtight defense, overwhelming every opponent in their path.
Game 1: Canucks 8 – River Cats 4
The Canucks opened the tournament with a hard-fought win against UOVLL River Cats. Right-hander Noah Jolicoeur was in command on the mound, racking up 8 strikeouts while limiting the River Cats to just a few timely hits.
Leo Burgess got the bats going with a key RBI double in the third, and Zander Munro, Carson Turner, and Cohen Boisvert each contributed with RBI singles. The team’s heads-up base running led to multiple stolen bases, including a daring steal of home by Burgess to stretch the lead.
Though UOVLL mounted a late push, Oli Larouche came on in relief to close it out, sealing the Canucks’ first win.
Game 2: Canucks 12 – Kingston Colts 4
Game two saw the Canucks’ offense explode for 12 runs behind relentless pressure at the plate. Mason Lalonde led the charge with three strikeouts on the mound and a big RBI single, while Boisvert, Turner, and Lafleur each picked up clutch hits in a decisive 6-run fourth inning.
Larouche, Jolicoeur, and Jenson Price were aggressive on the base paths, combining for multiple steals and scoring opportunities. The Canucks’ lineup proved too deep and too fast for Kingston’s defense to contain.
Game 3: Canucks 16 – East Nepean Eagles 4
In Game 3, the 11U Canucks exploded offensively, steamrolling the East Nepean Eagles 16–4 in just five innings.
Mason Lalonde, Zander Munro, and Noah Jolicoeur each had multi-hit games, combining for 7 RBIs and 6 runs scored. Cohen Boisvert added two hits and was hit by a pitch, continuing his on-base streak for the weekend. Oli Larouche and Leo Burgess kept the pressure on with RBI knocks in a five-run fifth that ended the game by mercy rule.
On the mound, Leo Burgess struck out 9 over four dominant innings, while Zander Munro closed it out. Defensively, the Canucks were crisp, including a perfectly executed pickoff and a diving snag by Hunter McDonald at first base.
Championship Game: Canucks 9 – East Nepean Eagles 1
The Canucks capped off their perfect weekend with a complete performance in the championship game, defeating East Nepean 9–1 to capture the Rumble on the River title.
Carson Turner was sharp on the mound, striking out six over six innings while scattering just a handful of hits. His command and poise set the tone early.
Offensively, Cohen Boisvert and Oli Larouche each delivered two hits, while Jax Crispin, Lalonde, and Zander Munro all crossed the plate in the third to break the game open. A series of passed balls and aggressive base running put added pressure on the Eagles’ defense, which unraveled late.
Turner helped his own cause with a pair of hits and a stolen base, and Boisvert iced it with a two-run single in the fifth.
