The Ottawa Nepean Canadians 13U squad delivered a statement performance at the 2025 PBR New York Super Select Tournament, going a perfect 4–0 against top-tier U.S. competition. Powered by explosive offense, elite pitching, and all-around team depth, the Canadians outscored their opponents 43–4 across four games.
Game 1: Canadians 21 – Hudson Valley Select 0
In Friday night’s opener, the Canadians came out swinging and never looked back. Eli Ellis had a monster game, launching a home run and a double while driving in multiple runs. Dylan Mulder also went deep with a two-run blast, and Brody Plummer started the offensive onslaught with a two-run shot of his own.
Nathan Chapman anchored the win with a three-run homer and a dominant pitching outing, striking out six across two innings. Declan Greffe added a pair of RBI hits and a double, while Lyle Waugh and Evan Chu chipped in with multi-hit performances.
Lyle Waugh later came on to close the game with a clean third inning, striking out two and sealing the mercy-rule victory.
Game 2: Canadians 9 – DP Canes 12U National 0
Saturday morning’s matchup saw the Canadians dismantle the highly regarded DP Canes 12U National team behind another all-around clinic. Evan Chu smashed a three-run homer in the fifth, while Terrence Lema, Isaac Manashe, and Braeden Taggart added key hits in a six-run final frame.
Taggart was untouchable on the mound, striking out 13 and allowing no hits over five shutout innings. Defensively, the Canadians were flawless, backing up their ace with clean infield play and strong positioning.
Ellis and Cunningham each reached base multiple times, while Adrian Belmonte and Chu drove in critical early runs to put the Canadians ahead for good.
Game 3: Canadians 8 – DP Canes American 0
Sunday’s first game featured another powerhouse pitching performance—this time from Isaac Manashe, who struck out 11 and allowed just one hit in a complete game shutout.
The bats stayed hot as Dylan Mulder went 3-for-3 with a double, a single, and a home run, driving in multiple runs. Ellis added a solo shot of his own in the third inning, continuing his weekend tear.
Braeden Taggart and Chu both ripped extra-base hits, and the Canadians tacked on insurance runs in nearly every inning, keeping constant pressure on the DP Canes pitching staff.
Game 4: Canadians 5 – SIS Tribe 4
In their closest game of the tournament, the Canadians edged out SIS Tribe 12U in a back-and-forth battle. Dylan Mulder once again provided the difference, belting a two-run home run in the third inning that ultimately stood up as the game-winning swing.
