ONC 14U Major Sweep Series at Hamilton Yards with Explosive Offense

OTTAWA, ON — The 2024–25 Ottawa Nepean Canadians 14U Major team dominated this weekend at Hamilton Yards, sweeping the visiting Toronto Mets 14U squad in a four-game series. Backed by big innings, patient hitting, and effective pitching, ONC outscored the Mets 44–13 over the two-day set.


Game 1 (Saturday): 8-Run Inning Fuels 14–8 Comeback Win

ONC 14U overcame a 5–0 deficit with an explosive second inning, scoring eight runs to take control. Cole Cote, Bryce Lamarche, and Jorge Moreno each drove in runs before Grayson Ellis capped the rally with a 2-RBI double.

Joshua Lamoureux tripled in the third as part of a 5-run inning, and ONC never looked back. Moreno, Lamoureux, and Ellis all had two hits, while Moreno and Ellis drove in three apiece.

Nathan Craig picked up the win in relief, tossing three innings with four strikeouts. Aydyn Hallett started, allowing no hits but five runs over one inning due to walks and errors.


Game 2 (Saturday): Hallett and Moreno Drive 10–0 Shutout Victory

ONC made quick work of Game 2, blanking the Mets 10–0. Aydyn Hallett and Jorge Moreno led the offense with two RBIs each. Hallett grounded out to bring in a run in the first and singled again in the third, while Moreno drove in two with a base hit.

Gus Tepfer was outstanding on the mound, tossing four scoreless innings with four strikeouts. Chase Walsh Guthrie closed it out with a clean inning of relief. ONC collected 12 walks and turned a double play, while Jack Purdy anchored the defense with eight fielding chances.


Game 3 (Sunday): Early Explosion Leads to 11–1 Win

The Canadians jumped out to a 6–0 lead in the first inning and never looked back in Sunday’s opener. Hallett, Lamoureux, and Ellis each drove in runs during the big first frame. Nathan Craig and Ellis both added two hits, while Ellis also swiped two bags.

Lamoureux earned the win, pitching three no-hit innings with two strikeouts. Jorge Moreno added a clean relief outing. ONC collected 11 hits and turned another double play defensively.


Game 4 (Sunday): 7-Run Fifth Inning Secures 9–4 Win

After trailing 4–2 heading into the bottom of the fifth, ONC exploded for seven runs on four hits to take control. Nathan Craig delivered the decisive blow with a 3-RBI single on a full count.

Brady Mondor led the team with two hits, and Ellis drove in a pair. Jack Purdy drew two walks and handled catching duties. ONC showed poise at the plate, working seven walks in the game.

Grayson Ellis started and struck out four over two innings, while Bryce Lamarche pitched 1.1 shutout innings to earn the win.
