ONC 18U - PBLO Champions
In a walk-off ONC 18U claim the league title!

Tuesday August 2nd in Kingston saw the resumption of the weather-delayed 2022 PBLO 18U Championship game.

When the game was interrupted at the end of three innings, ONC 18U were down 5-4.  Dylan Merpaw started the game and Ewen Johnston had come on in relief.

When the game resumed, Will Boucher took the mound and he was almost perfect.  In four innings he retired all 12 batters he faced, on 48 pitches with six Ks.

There was no shortage of drama and no shortage of heroes in this game, as Boucher also scored the game-winning run on Nick Hum's two-run walk-off single down the third base line.

The Club is very happy for this team and its players, and especially Head Coach Jon Dale, on this hard fought accomplishment.

The 18Us had a tough season, dealing with long-term injuries to several players and often playing league and tournament games with a thin bench.  Coach Dale, using rubber-bands and band-aids, guided this team to a 5th seed position for the PBLO playoff tournament.  Then his magic began.  The team lost only the first game in playoff round-robin play, following which played their best baseball over the next five games, culminating in a league title last night in Kingston.

Congratulations to Head Coach Jon Dale, his staff and to the players on an incredible performance.  You got the job done and the entire Club is extremely proud of you.
